Walking Lots Day 49

View Europe Again... on Billdeb's travel map.

Easy day ...it decided to rain well drizzle so kinda limits what we feel like doing. Started late after breakfast wandered to the High Palace which dates back in parts to the 1494 & some parts to 9 th C though not much left of course. Ferreted our way through ancient rooms me freaking because the floors are constructed of wooden planks up to 2 feet wide. They creaked & groaned & felt spongy to me . Not happy at all. We went up level after level me still freaking but I must admit apart from jumping up & down a few times Bill was basically understanding . I gave up finally when you had to walk across an enclosed battlement to the clock tower." Don't care what's there just take photos Bill "
Rain was heavier so on with the wet weather gear & umbrella & off to the Museum which is housed in a medieval monastery . Now once again I freaked this time high walk ways over archeological digs.... Very interesting but heights again think I'm getting worse though may be just exhaustion. The museum was fascinating & of course again brought home how " bloody " well the religious really did live. Utter luxury no money spared ....fantastic to see but does make one feel a little uncomfortable .
We spent a good couple of hours in the museum then braved the elements to find a beer house for lunch ...more bad but yummy German food ,wine & beer.
We decided after lunch that as the weather was really not great we would have an easy afternoon back in the hotel. Think we do need it.
Tomorrow early start with bus ride starting up the Romantic Road. We head to Dinklelbuhl ...apparently this town dates back 400 years & is one of the best preserved towns in all Germany . Should be a fun few days....
